Karin Dom Children's Center, Varna

The building consists of one underground level, three above-ground levels, and a rooftop terrace.

The load-bearing structure is made of monolithic reinforced concrete with flat slabs (without beams), columns, and shear walls. The basement structure includes a foundation slab covering the entire underground level and basement walls. Horizontal seismic forces are absorbed by reinforced concrete shear walls. The roof is flat, with a cornice elevation of +12.05 m.

The external partition walls are made of 38 cm bricks with thermal insulation properties. For the insulation of slabs, columns, and shear walls, 10 cm of mineral wool thermal insulation is provided. The façade is ventilated, featuring metal cladding made of low-profile galvanized sheet metal on the second and third floors, while the ground floor is finished with wooden siding.

The windows on the second and third floors are made of coniferous wood with double glazing and include an operable section with an opaque plywood panel, treated with clear varnish and stain. For the ground floor, an aluminum structural façade has been selected, with double glazing and laminated safety glass (triplex).
